Weekly email 12-2-2013: Las luvias

Querido Familia,

So for thanksgiving we did nothing. I am jealous of Nathan`s pizza adventure ha ha… We did go looking out for pie but we got there too late and they were all out so we ended up just buying peruvian pateries instead.

So this week was pretty awesome. It is the rainy season here so pretty much everyday it rained this week. And I don`t know why I haven`t been smart enough to bring my umberella. It always starts our super sunny then just pours rain or it starts out super rainy then all the sudden is blazing hot.But yeah we keep getting stuck in these storms. We are way up the mountain where its muddy and we get soaked. Sometimes we are lucky enough to be appointments when the worst part of the rain comes but its pretty bad when we get stuck outside. But I found that if I look all sad, shivering out in the rain people feel bad for us and let us in ha ha…

This week we also found this really cool new investigator named Piero. He is 22 years old and of pure gold. His aunt is a member in a different ward and he has been reading a lot in the book of mormon which is awesome because normally we have to pretty much beg people to read it because they are too lazy or too busy but he actually wants us to asign him homework. Best day of my life… He came to us this week to church and really liked it so we hope to see a baptism in a few weeks.

Our ward all went to the temple this week on Saturday and left us here all alone! I wish we could have gone. But they traveled all through the night to get there by Saturday morning then traveled back Saturday night and all came to church tired the next morning. But I finally see the sacrifice it takes for a lot of ppl to go to the temple. They all have to save up their money and travel through the night to get there.

So thats my week!

Love you lots and lots!

Love,

Hermana Brittany Polatis

So this is what my area looks like. Well the worst part of it. There is a nicer part too where I live but we spend most of our time in the mountain and in the poorer areas. Pretty much everyone has dirt floors.
